Rear Ended Tap

Today I was on my way to work, the first time to be early in a long time. My cousin had just left to go back to the states and I then headed out. I make a right down one street, a left down another... and I stop. Waiting and staring at the cars zooming by me. In all of the staring I must have forgotten about that car right infront of me, trying to make the same right I was. I release my brake pedal and slowly move forward, not realizing that I was at all. And then the car jerks forward and then back a little. It sounded like I hit something, but there was no one in front of me, so I had forgotten. I was waiting for her to react, but I saw no reaction whatsoever. She just kept staring at the cars passing by so she could make that right-hand turn. Then finally after like 2 minutes, she comes out and here's the script:

Joanne: (Walking towards Nathan) "You hit my car!"
Nathan: (Walking towards Joanne) "I'm so sorry, I didn't even see you there."
Joanne: "You almost threw me and my daughter into the middle of the intersection. My daughter is emotionally distressed now. She's learning to drive and I can't believe you hit us."
Nathan: (Feeling as though he's about to pee his pants) "So sorry miss. I really am. I honestly didn't see you there."
Joanne: (Seems like she gets a little more irritated) "Well, that doesn't change anything. I'm gonna have to take your insurance number. Give it to me please?"
Nathan: (Feeling extremely uneasy) "Yeh sure. One sec" (Insurance is handed to Joanne)
(Joanne is at her car door and her daughter is finding pen and a piece of paper)
(Joanne then looks at her bumper and touches it doesn't feel anything, she looks at the front of my car and doesn't see any damage)
Joanne: (While writing information down) So how long have you been driving?
Nathan: (Pauses) Umm... about 2 years or so.
(Joanne gives the that's the reason why look and Nathan returns the I can't believe you asked that question look)

And stopping there for now, "how long have you been driving?" who does she think she is. I'm sure that just because I'm a teenager with a car doesn't automatically mean that that is why i hit her. As if it was on purpose. Why does she suck at driving and not making a right turn when there was so much space for three cars to easily move without speeding into the rightmost lane. That is if she was going to be driving the way that those driving schools teach. Start off on the right lane move your way to left if necessary. Those stupid teenager question just down right piss me off and don't understand why everything that goes wrong is because of a teenager. Continuing on, she just told me that she'd tell her husband and get him to check it out and once that was over she'd get back to me. My dad calls later on in the day and he tells me that it's going to cost $1000 for this crappy Safari to be fixed. For what? a tap on the back end of the bumper? I was so pissed, but at the same time my stomach was in knots. I had had enough and really wanted to see what was up with the whole situation. So my dad told em to go to the garage where she took her van and my dad was going to meet me there. I went there and the mechanic said that my car should have felt more of an impact as well as the fact that it could have already been broken but fixed slightly so the tap on the back end of the car could have just knocked the bumper bar off and broken it and made the back doors stuck. But whatever the whole situation is done with now and I don't care anymore. I'm getting it out of my head. I hate thinking about it. Anyways, I think i've been doing pretty good on this blog now a days so yeh... L8s
