Craving to Write

I wish I could write a book. Sit down, make a plan, come up with a resolution or some form of justification, and be happy with it. But every time I start this thinking process I am dumbfounded by my inability to consciously connect my thoughts to form a coherent point. I circle around this idea of what it would be like if "passion became a necessity" in our lives. We need to do what we love.

When Passion Becomes Necessity. It's been 3 years and this idea is still stuck in my head. I don't know how to answer this question. OR to prove the point. I don't even fully know what it means to be passionate and what the real idea of necessity is. Over the next little while, as I look inward and read some books about our soul, about love, about ultimate passion for something... I hope I can find just something to bring me to the next stage. Maybe passion doesn't need to be a necessity. Maybe passion just needs to be active.

When passion is active. You see change. You see joy and love. You see people ready to make their day come alive. Their dreams and desires are fulfilled. But what about those who do not know their passion. That don't know what they are searching for. So many Christians end up putting up this idea that God will fill this need. I think that can be true, but really I think it is temporarily true. I think we focus on that initial experience that God has given us and we try to continue to match it. Most people are not in sync with God, but they are aware of his presence. God can help, I think, with the initial finding of what your passion is, but you will never know unless you try something. You have to be willing to give something a shot to see what you enjoy and what you don't.

Try life and explore all that you can. My mind is filled with contradictions.

The Way to the Top is Treacherous!

I'm hiking up this mountain. I have been taking my time for the past few months... making sure that I don't tire out too quickly. I've been preserving my energy because I knew one day the time would come when I had to begin giving it all I could. THAT TIME has arrived.

I am still near the base of the mountain. I can feel the work piling up and the stress building, which will slow my whole body down. I hope I have worked myself out enough, and learned and grown up enough. I hope my strength has increased and my endurance is better. The first stretch of serious terrain is going to be a doozy.

I have been warming up, getting my mind in gear, creating a better atmosphere... Nothing is going to stop me anytime soon. Yes, this stretch will be tough, but I'm sure we will have many more difficult stretches to come.

I had meetings at Grandview last week. They went superbly! Discussed about things that were necessary and advancing things that are needed. I have now begun to be more greatly involved and integrated into some of the processes. I am hoping that I will be positively influential to promote change in the right direction.

I am certain at this moment that I am where I need to be. Doing what I need to be doing. Changing what needs to be changed. Speaking when needing to speak. Listening when needing to listen. AND Experiencing life the way I should be experiencing it.

Hurdle #1: Try and Get this ColdestNightOfTheYear event running through the minds of people at Grandview!

A wintery day??? I'll post!

Since, I've been back from Los Angeles...

I've been thinking.
I've been processing.
I've been yearning.
I've been attempting to learn.

I quit my job at American Eagle. I have moved on and glad of it... that place was beginning to wear me down. However, I miss seeing many of those wonderful people. I walked in on Boxing Day and was just so pleased to not have to fold clothing and sell product and work for 13 hours with a 15 minute break. I got to relax and chill!

My desire is to see the world change into something beautiful. Something filled with love and grace and compassion. Something not seen in a long time.

Recently, I've had frustrations... church frustrations. Should I be mentioning it? Probably not, but oh well! Why is it that church is so two-faced? At least most of them. Why are people so conniving? We want people to come in to our building and into our atmosphere when we are all so selfish about every little detail. Everyone needs to look good and needs to seem like they are great. This is what I get out church. A very conceded characteristic. How do we change this? How do we learn to move away from this?

I know church in a building tends to be run like a business. These business take on so many things that are wrong and incorrect of our view. We've brought in lists of rituals, decrees for proper behaviour and standards for appropriate clothing. We've become a "community" of people so concerned about the check-marks on the paper than how we act because we want to.

My plan... My idea... My desire... is to bring this mentality to an end. I'll start here and move forward, hopefully. Let's pray! Let's learn! Let's spend time growing in love! Let's start... NOW!

Writing Absence

It has been an incredibly long time since I wrote last. I've contemplated the idea of how great it would be to get back into the blog and have brushed it off on accounts that I don't have the will power to keep it up!

As of recently, however, I have found myself up really late at night attempting to conceptualize all off my thoughts and ponderings. I realized that there was no better way to collect them all than back on this blog. I hand-write WAY too slowly and I am usually on my laptop when I am at home! These thoughts also help me open my brain processes a little bit more.

I have been wanting to get back into music and writing, but have been unable to really think and vocalize my thoughts and ideas... Here I can do it semi-"efficiently"!

So here is the new attempt at my blog that I am hoping for!

Complacency

We go around in a circle
never letting ourselves be changed
We figure this is circumstantial
"It's the circle of life"

When someone is changing it's shape
We fight back to stop it
To stop them from trying to escape
because "it's the circle of life"

As humans we can't let it go
stay in our boundaries and never progress
But why must we follow the same flow
Well "it's the circle of life"

The ring that we have assumed
is like a flower trying to bud
Our closed minds will never let it bloom
"It's the circle of life"

To be challenged is not a pressure
that we all try to experience
we flea from it thinking that pressure
is not in the circle of life

So why can't we just realize that it helps?
They make us think and contemplate
which will make us even yelp
"Why this circle of life?"

Pushing ourselves to grow deeper
and having a desire to push for the best
Nothing will come out of the sleeper
in this "circle of life"

So get up and move yourself around
Complacency is making this world stagnant
We need to push those who are found
to leave this "circle of life"

Then can we only start reaching
to a place that is higher than ours
Jumping and leaping and screeching
"No more of this Circle of life"

And finally we can struggle and fight through pain
Have ourselves be tested and never be the same
So that we can grow and change this circle saying
this circle we live in is no longer what we can blame!

Screaming for Want

You are always waiting
You teach us to do the same
But yet we are anticipating
That you somehow prove your Name

WE have a lack of understanding
when it comes to who you are
and the lack of comprehending
is not a way to deny you either

So as much as I scream stand by my side
and become present in my life
I begin to see that you did decide
to stand by me in this life

So now I find myself screaming at you
Not in anger, but in love instead
Take control over my life the time's due
Never let your love leave my head

Someone Found

It's you I found
I went in circles
Trying to find you
So I found you now

It's you I found
All the struggles
They went away
Because I found you now

It's you I found
My life is great
I've become quite happy
Since I found you now

It's you I found
The only one
That I want to talk to
For I found you now

It's you I found
All my life's plans
Are made for you
Because I found you now

It's you I found
Or is it you found me?
What about the we?
So We found eachother

We found eachother
It's the happiest we've been made
We found eachother
In you, me and God the other

We've found eachother

Go Back To Loving

Like the wind, sometimes its dead and sometimes its strong
But no matter what in the end I feel like I'm wrong
I feel better one day and fix all the glitches
Not even 20 hours go by and life's back at being a ***** as
I can't control any of these things no more than a day
Of happiness will ever ever come my way

It's hard to realize that I still need faith and trust
And that it is all part of this life I live in disgust
My ups and downs go round and round
Hoping I'll be okay and just found
Found by you so these struggles I face will end
So my reason for caring for others I no longer must defend

It's a stupid situation and I want it over and done with
Tied up by rope and stuck in one place, I just writhe
Move so I can get free and break loose of this ache
Somehow fix all the problems that I will never mistake
Again for I know that to love everyone and make them truly happy
Is a most difficult task and the pain that comes with it is just plain crappy

It totally stresses me out and makes me ineffective
Just like trying to care and being overly protective
It erks my heart to see so many people hurt
But I know God is there somewhere for everyone inert
Hopefully this heartache will leave me be
And I can go back to truly loving everyone again, believe you me

Anger In Me

Verse 1:
Frustration
I've got this little situation
And anger
should not ever linger
I'm mad at you
but you keep doing what you do
Elements of hate
is what I do debate

Chorus:
I say I'm there for you
But I can't be
I'm there for you babe
But I'm not
I say I'm there for you
But I can't be
I'm there for you babe
I'm actually not

Verse 2:
So Angry at you
I can't see your face
Don't look at me
My blood rises to a high place
The steam comes out my ears
Can't let you see my tears
I'm just angry at you
At myself for being mad at you too

Chorus

Bridge:
Why can't I stop this hate in my mind
My heart feels so cold to you my friend
It just doesn't seem to go away
I no longer with you just stay
I'm heading out that door
where our hearts are now at war
and I'm running far from you
so go and keep doing what you do

Chorus x3

Would you come here?

A lost man in the wilderness of life
Trying to use the sun as guidance
But the world has caused him so much strife
That he totally lost his only stance

He's walking in a random direction
Unsure of it's exact destination
He hopes that there will be protection
But is aware he has a lack of determination

Would you come here and speak to me
Help me in this time of need
Would you come here and open my eyes
You said for me you did want to die

On this journey she is going no where
A road marked with suffering and pain
She feels hurt and her heart is left bare
Opened to the world, lost herself, trying to regain

The hope is gone no more love left to give
But she tries to pull herself together
It's the abuse she took from that life once lived
She heard of this being you said he loved her forever

Would you come here and speak to me
Help me in this time of need
Would you come here and open my eyes
You said for me you did want to die

Would you come here and speak to me
Help me in this time of need
Would you come here and open my eyes
You said for me you did want to die

Waiting on the World to Change

I'm sick of waiting
Waiting for this world to change.
It's taken me a long time to get here,
But I think I'm ready
Ready to realize my strength
And ready to accept my responsibility
to start changing this world

For so long I've found myself
Being insufficient and feeling it too
But I'm not
The G-O-D is on my side and
With that in mind I can do it all
Start locally and go global
So I proclaim I'm going to start
Trying to change this world

I'm going to strive to gain knowledge
Accept my wrong doings and just grow
Grow mentally, physically, emotionally
And of course spiritually
So it's now time to go off and do it
As the nike motto goes... Just Do It
It's what I will do now
Everyday from now on

Live life to the fullest and expect nothing back
Help others and expect nothing back
Follow the Lord and expect nothing back
The joys about it all... usually something comes back!
Love life, know you are loved
know you are cared for
JUST KNOW!
This world will change because I"m sick of waiting for others too

I will start the changing!
To change the world for you

Coming together

So things in my life or coming together. I enjoy it so much. I'm slowly pulling my room in so it looks like someone lives here. A desk was just purchased, in my favour, yesterday because I needed one for the imperativeness of my studies. I can no longer sit on the floor with my back hunched over trying to understand what I bible verse is saying when the bible that I need I can't reach for because it was laying somewhere else on my floor. Now with this L-shaped desk... All will be accomlished. YEY... makes me smile!

Movies! So, I've been realizing more and more that there are so many movies that I have never heard of or seen. So I"m slowly building written documentation of movies that need to be viewed over the rest of my lifetime. If you have any thoughts let me know.

School, it's going. I love the learning aspect, but some of the teachers I want to kill. I think that there should be a class where it teaches you to be fun as a teacher so you don't bore your students to death. I insert here: "chlorophyll sounds more like bore-ophyll" (Billy Madison). All teachers college should not let someone graduate if they can't pass the verbal teaching "let's make everything actually interesting" test. It's vital to all the students in their future. It WILL determine who does well and who does not. But other than that, I'm learning stuff and it's sticking in my head roughly... I just have to look back on some of it to remember. So far, I've read 6 books of the old testament! a few more weeks and the rest of it will be read... YIKES!

That's my update for now... I"ll be back later

Final Fairwell

Heads I don't and tails I do
I'm finding out how I should feel about you
Scissor cuts paper, which wraps up the rock
And the winner is the one to whom you talk

There's two of us trying to figure it out
Both of us don't ever really doubt
That we care for you as much as the other
The only major problem is that he is my brother

So do we fight over who loves you more
Or should we give up this chance and close that door
I feel like I must try and seal my heart
Eventhough from you I don't ever want to be apart

He knows we were together and I told him to not worry
But as he is with you more I begin to grow weary
I wish I was with you forever in this life
But with him I never want to cause such strife

So I will do what I think is right and totally stay away
"Let him love you and care and comfort you" I'll say
You will make him happy as happy can be
And the love I have for you will forever be with me

So as time goes on and slowly you fall for him
I pray that I can be truly happy and not be grim
And not hold a grudge towards the situation
But be able to rejoice with you in your celebration

And I say this as a final fairwell
I love the way that your hair does smell
and how beautiful you look with no make-up on
It makes me stop and wish I had not withdrawn

The brilliance of your eyes, I get lost every time
I realize why giving you up was such a crime
And I can never tell you how much I love you
Because instead of me saying it, he will say "I do!"

So goodbye and goodluck to you in your life's endeavours
I'm going to try to put this love into the past and end it forever
It will be difficult for me to not fall back when your eyes see mine
But it's what true love is, to know that I should let you go and that all will be fine

My Stupid Mouth...

So in three words I can talk about my day and majority of the conversations... "My Stupid Mouth". As great as the John Mayer song is and as pertinent to my life as it is... I just realize more and more that I will always say stupid things. I don't think about what I say sometimes and don't realize how rude it may come across.

As the saying goes... "actions speak louder than words", but for me the words are all I have. A mental note to remind... I need to shut up sometimes! I have the ability to talk and talk and talk and talk. And today it was brought to my attention that I don't know when to stop. It's a bad habit. I think it's because I like saying things before I here them from other people's mouth. I like to say things jokingly, but seldom there is a little stink inserted with it.

My actions have been lacking. All I do is complain, fight, or just get quiet... at least that's what I notice the most. As helpful as all those things are to get out my frustrations it isn't at the same time. It almost gets VERY unhealthy, specifically pour moi, I need to let things go. I need to be able to stop being stupid and rude. I need to think:

A mouth is used for talking and for communicating
And yet there is so much segregating going on in this world
that the world is no longer a unity of trust and love
but a way of deception, lies, and anger
I hate how we talk and talk about other things
but our own thoughts and feelings never come up
We hold it all back and revise the information we have gathered
Either holding it to someone's head or holding it up behind their back

It's a painful way to love, never feeling like someone actually loves you
Always thinking your back is the place where a murder will take place
You and I have a place in this world to lift I and you up
encouragement is the key, but our hate for eachother is the winner
We love to hate and hate to love, but love is the end product
Love we want, but love we feel we can't afford, so hate is what we do
Hate to have you and hate to be hated, but figure it's a happy medium

Why do we hurt? Why is my mouth so big
My mouth doesn't stop... it's unstable
Spewing words that don't make sense...
Always saying things it doesn't mean

I'm sorry to the world for the hurt it brings
I'll try to stop, but can't guaruntee it
A message should be sent when we are born
never learn to use because it will cause harm to the user
I propose as a quick end to this "poetic" rant of thoughts
That linger in the brain of the typical cynic
That is afraid of so much in this world, but fears to show that he is
My end comes to this... no longer will my mouth be open
to throw up words of useless garbage and create them
create the melodramas in my head which are built up from over thinking

HA... over thinking... you would think I don't think
but over thinking can be the reason to the means of the reason why
this sh*t happens to me with a clean slate, no marks on the board,
But screwed up once again... Yupp I've screwed up once again!

Strugglin' With Every New Day

I take steps in the right direction
And pray to God that there is a section
In my life that is fully fulfilled
With love and admiration being spilled
over everyone and everything

The only problem is that in this life
There are happy, sad and moments of strife
Constantly battling eachother to win
The outcome is that within each victim
lies a bit of someone who is struggling

Struggling to fight a life that is fulfilling
Struggling to come up on top
Struggling to make it through the day
Struggling to just be alive and stay

It's hard to be happy in a world so discontented
People lift you up and tear you down just after a few seconds
They'll never please others, but try to please themself
His self, her self, itself, one's self, theirself
Myself is the one that's supposed to be forgotten

The reason is that peer pressure is dominating
It shows how you can all be nominating
one person to do the same thing if you just persevere at it
Force them if you will, so they feel they are adequate
Clearly it's part of the reason people are struggling

Struggling to fight a life that is fulfilling
Struggling to come up on top
Struggling to make it through the day
Struggling to just be alive and stay

Now staying part is very tricky
We have our ups, downs, and times that are sticky
Can't get out of the mud... I'm too far deep
Making us yell, freak and even at times weep
Our heads off just to STAY afloat

It erks me to say this but why can't people comprehend
Some of us need a way or a time to escape and depend
Depend on ourselves and that we can do things on our own
That we don't need others to watch how we've grown
It's an internal affair... they all should know I'm struggling

Struggling to fight a life that is fulfilling
Struggling to come up on top
Struggling to make it through the day
Struggling to just be alive and stay

Confinement of the Cardiac Organ?

The Physical Heart
A muscular organ with the purpose of pumping blood to the extremities of the vertebrate by means of continuous involuntary rhythmic contractions.

The Metaphorical Heart
As vital as the heart is in life, it has a peculiar attachment to love. In the past it was thought that this kardia, Greek for "heart," was the headquarters of the soul and human thought. As it is apparent that this is not the case, people still use the term "heart" metaphorically as a symbol of love.

The "confinement" refers more so to the metaphorical annotation, than the physical attribution. Imprisoned in a sense of stagnation and unemotionally caring for others. The confusion I feel is not knowing when it is enough to really give up and stop trying to befriend someone. If they no longer want the friendship, that's fine. The difficulty is when the friendship is split and there are the casualties in the middle who you feel are having to "pick and choose" to spend time with one. It is absurd having people stuck in between, but what else can one do?

Oh dear!

So I was on Facebook just now. I am not normally on it and if I am it's because I received an email saying that someone wanted to add me or that I received a comment. Yesterday I was on for what could probably be the longest time I've spent on facebook, for A LOOOONG TIME! now I have a confession I was on for no real reason just now, but there is a purpose to this postage post. Here it is...

Facebook has now written at the bottom of your own profile a way to add more people to your list by pasting on an html link to your blog... that is ridiculous! I was shocked. How pathetic can people get that they want so many friends that they would get random people to post them as friends. I don't know. That doesn't really make sense, I don't think. but yeah. I don't know. it's crazy. you know Facebook is becoming part of many many lives when they start doing that craziness... CRAZY!!!!!! okay nap time and clean up room time...

All Three for the Purpose of One!

So yesterday, was that BIG day I had talked about. The day where I lead worship for a huge congregation in three different services. Three different tones, three different times of mistakes, three different groups of people out there, three different reactions, but it was all there for one purpose. That purpose was the purpose of bringing praise to God and thanking him for all He has done for us.

As you know, the day before yesterday was a stressful one, but I learned how to just let God work through me and to take that fear and make it useful and to show His glory through it all. So let me quickly run you through yesterday morning... and maybe, if there is time, tell you about my night with the 79th Annual Academy Awards!!!

So I began the day with an early morning... 4:30 am. I got up got ready and got dressed. I just want to mention that I wore this awesome tie. I'll try and take a photo of it and post it. I think it's possibly one of the most awesomeness I've seen of a tie yet. Anywho, I ended up at Grandview Baptist at around 6:30 am... and was the first person there. All the lights were off and I waited for our bassist to come because the doors were locked and I was the one that had a key to the place. We walked to the Worship Centre and just chatted about stuff. After about ten or fifteen minutes, the other band and tech members began to arrive.

7 am and we began rehearsal with a prayer and got right into practicing our transitions for the worship songs. We had so many that it took us literally until 8 am or even past 8 am to finish practice. I was feeling a bit frustrated because it seemed as if I wasn't understanding when anything was going to happen and how things transitioned into others. But eventually I got a hang of it. We went to another room for prayer right before and start the first service at 8:15. I was nervous and anxious, but was trying to keep my cool. I don't fully enjoy public speaking in front of big crowds, eventhough I used to be good at it when I was younger.

I fumbled over my scripture verses, didn't talk loud enough, kept my eyes closed sometimes (so I wasn't engaging the audience) and didn't properly introduce myself while the offering was passed around. I wasn't too worried about it all surprisingly now that I look back. I was excited and thought it went quite well. There was just one problem with that service there was this subtle music playing on a CD and it was in our monitors. I feed off the others (as I believe many people do), but specifically off the band. When the band feels it, I give more. But with this sound coming through they weren't really into it as much and so I wasn't able to feed off of them more than I could have, but it was all good... I thought it still went well. The congregation was pretty much stoic the whole time, but I didn't care because I was happy praising God. Service ended with a BANG! and the worship pastor, the producer and I at a quick meeting to discuss what we can do to make it the better for the next service.

We fixed words, we fixed the sound and the band was engaged, as well as the crowd. I fumbled my scripture verses again, and skipped a section of the song, but it was great because I was beginning to get the hang of it. I was beginning to not need my piece of paper that had all the words that was going to say. I was being able to relax and become more confident and just be myself. A little jumping and a little crazy (black singing) vocals, which I was SWEET! and yeah we ended that on a definite positive note. It went phenomenally. People came up to me and said that they loved the worship set and that I did an amazing job. Great encouragement and as much as I don't like hearing it, I have to admit it definitely boosted the confidence in myself and knew that I could relax more.

Third service hit and we were on. I read the scriptures fine and I lead the congregation much better. I had a blast and I know others did too. Besides one tiny fault, the lead guitarist forgot the beginning of Mighty to Save. It went awesome. I also did more "black singing" vocals. and I was happy.

It ended and I was poopeded... so I went home and took a nap. I'm not going to talk about the OSCARS because 24 just started and I'm missing the first 2 minutes ending this blog so yeah!

Nineteenish hours from now...

The countdown begins... In roughly nineteen hours from now, as I type this out, I will have accomplished one of my dreams. At the second largest baptist church in Canada, sitting at 1636 people who consider themselves part of the Grandview family (as of October 18, 2006), I have been given the privilege to lead worship for them. I've led worship at other places before, but nothing of this caliber. After joining the church and interning there since September, I have been given quite a few responsibilities. I've learned so many things and even as a student at Heritage College I'm able to apply the textbook knowledge to this church.

Tomorrow is so nerve-racking. I'm feeling the stress and people have continually told me "Just give it up to God and don't worry about it!" or "You'll be fine, you were given the chance because we trust you will be amazing!" It is encouraging and concurrently feels like there is more pressure because they are assuming that I will be great. It's a lot to live up to, at least for me. My other problem is the first comment people have made. "Just give it up to God!" Easier said than done, right? When you are so used to dealing with things on your own, like studying and making sure you know it all for a mid term or like making sure that you have everything is appropriately lined up for work proposal or a meeting that you are in charge of. There is a lot of time and work put in, so how do you just give it up? I don't know. I'm sure I'll figure that out soon enough. Tomorrow seems like it will be the day to fully comprehend that.

There is a lot to consider going into creating a service and after a lot of debating of what and where things should be, it was all finalized monday morning. There are two worship sets, with the offering, a baptism, prayer focus, and the teaching in between. I'm doing all the transitional talks and prayers and I'm scared about how it will flow. (ASIDE: I don't like to think of the prayers as a transitional tool, but for flow of the service it does help. It provides the band with a way for getting off or on stage without much notification to the congregation or time being wasted.) As I was going through the song lists I was continually doubting what I wanted, but I knew I wanted one song, Mighty to Save, and thankfully Grandview had just added that as one of the new songs on their repertoire list for 2007. I'll explain my love for this song after the worship sets that are in the following list:

Set 1:
All the Earth Will Sing Your Praises by Paul Baloche
Mighty to Save by Hillsong United (the new one)
Mighty to Save (reprise during offering)

Set 2:
Offering by Paul Baloche
How Great is Our God by Chris Tomlin
Holy is the Lord by Chris Tomlin
You are Holy by Michael W. Smith

So let me talk about this new song, Mighty to Save, by Hillsong United. If you haven't heard it yet, you are definitely missing out. look at the lyrics under "song of the month" and if you want I'll totally send you the song. It has this sweet A/B/C# guitar riff right at the start of the song. After 4 bars of the drummer giving a one-two-three-four beat on the high hat, he jumps in with some awesome drumming of 16ths on the high hat and snare. This has started me down the road of truly appreciating the talent that drummers have even more. Two bars later the band slowly enters in. At this point, listen to the second guitar that comes in and its effect pedals. The song begins to sound so SWEET!

After a few more bars the lyrics begin, but the song still remains quite soft. The chorus approaches and the instrumentalists crescendo and quickly decrescendo keeping the essence of a quiet praise song. Head through verse two and then the chorus. This is when the band begins to hit it hard. The song now has gone from the quiet subtlety of a prayer inside to aloud worship and praise making you feel His mightiness. The bridge then begins powerfully with lyrics of "Shine your light and let the whole world see/ We're singing for the glory of the Risen King/ Jesus." And then we go through a chorus a few more times and then the bridge a few more times until the end of the of the song.

This song has become one of my favourites, as I am sure it as and will for many others. It is strong lyrically with a feeling of how mighty our God truly is. Hillsongs has been so influential in the way praise and worship is done nowadays. They continually reinvent themselves and create such amazing songs. Now I'm not saying that every song is a big hit like Mighty to Save, but I think they have put the talents God has given them to great use. Starting out as a small band who just made music to bring praise to God and from that love for God evolving us into this new generation of music, where we can be relevant to the secular world of music around us. To be relevant for the non-Christians around us, is what I want to be part of. We cannot reach others if we cannot relate to them.

How ended up talking about how Hillsongs has revolutionized Christian worship songs for the new generation I will never know. Although, I'm glad I did because it has made me realize that no matter how scared I am and nervous about a situation like this I am still thinking of how much God can do and remove our fears if we just bring the praise back to Him. I guess me spending this time writing all of this out has just made me relax more. I've brought the thinking process out on "paper" and I've realized that it is in His hands. I want tomorrow to be amazing not to show myself off or say "what a good job I've done," but to be a tool for God to show others how awesome He is. That in everything I do I can try my hardest so I can give him true praise. And so that he can use me, a scared, nervous kid who loves praising Him, to help let His light shine to the world.
